Lúnasa Events Programme: A packed summer programme of events for all As the famous Irish song goes ‘We Brought the Summer With Us’!

Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich are delighted to present our summer programme with events and courses in abundance with something for all as we gear up for the traditional festival of Lúnasa. Cultúrlann will be home to two summer schemes, Scéim Samhraidh Chumann Óige na bhFál in July, and Scéim Samhraidh Aisling Óg in August. with plenty of activities to develop and nurture young creative skills. Our gallery spaces are open and awaiting your perusal of beautiful, upcoming exhibitions including Sinéad Ó Néill McNicholl’s Ní bheidh sé mar a bhí in the Dillon Gallery and Róisín Ní Neachtáin’s inaugural solo show in the Ballaí Bána.

To those of you who can’t get enough of traditional music, secure your tickets now for the Belfast Trad Fest concert ‘Tá Bean in Éirinn’. We need only mention our incredible line up by their first name for you to know you’re in for one of the best nights of the season– Muireann, Angelina, Caitlín, Síle, Edwina, Doireann! We will also host the wonderful Lonesome George in the restaurant and as part of East Side Arts Festival, a wonderful quartet of artists Anthony Toner, Gráinne Holland, Ken Haddock and Matt McGinn will pay homage to the best of Van Morrison. There is a unique opportunity to see the beautiful and uplifting dekbeh dance when Diyar Theatre from Palestine visits local group DU Dance during Féile an Phobail. The best of artistic offerings will be available here in Cultúrlann this summer.

We are also looking forward to the return of fringe festival, Liú Lúnasa which will bring the summer celebrations to a close with a two day Intensive course, morning yoga, movement workshop for children and finale concert in conjunction with Cairde Palestine. Liú Lúnasa’s flagship event, the Poetry Slam, will return to its roots in An Chultúrlann with a prize fund of £1,100. Be sure to get writing!

of the wider arts network, with strong partnerships with arts organisations right across Belfast and beyond, which means we can all look forward to many more wonderful events in the coming months at An Chultúrlann as part of Féile an Phobail, Eastside Arts Festival and Belfast TradFest.”
