Join us for the launch of Béal na Péiste written by Fionntán de Brún. Professor Fionntán de Brún has won the prestigious Gradam Úrscéalaíochta an Oireachtais for his novel Béal na Péiste. This is the foremost literary award for Irishlanguage works.
About Professor Fionntan de Brún Fionntan de Brún was appointed Professor of Modern Irish in Maynooth University in September 2017. Previous to this he was a Senior Lecturer at Ulster University (2006-17) and St Mary’s University College, Belfast (1998-2006). He took his BA in Celtic Studies and French (1992) at Queen’s University Belfast and received his PhD at QUB in 2002. His doctoral thesis was published in the same year by An Clóchomhar as Seosamh Mac Grianna - an Mhéin Rúin. He was born and raised in Belfast where he attended St Malachy’s College.
