A poor doll/toymaker is alone at home on Christmas Eve, she’s already received a letter from Father Christmas earlier in the Spring with the bad news that he did not require as many toys from her workshop as he usually needs. To make matters worse, she’s just received a message from her landlady threatening to have her turned out of her home. Her only companion is a much treasured and very old teddy bear.

On the stroke of midnight there’s a knock at the door and a stranger enters, he’s very confused and a bit scruffy but she thinks he’s a good man and offers him a rest on the sofa In the middle of the night something very, very strange happens in the workshop – all toys come to life, they recognise the man asleep on the sofa from the TV and they begin to quiz him on who he is and how he got here, eventually his confusion clears and he remembers who he is - the President of the Bank of Mín an Chladaigh!!

In the meantime the Toymaker has been out in the neighbourhood delivering toys to the local children, when she comes back to the workshop the man is standing next to a gorgeous Christmas tree, Christmas dinner is on the table and there’s a fire in the grate! The stranger explains who he is, thanks her for her kindness and makes her an offer to buy her toy company for a very handsome sum!
