Seán Ó Muireagáin

Seán Ó Muireagáin is from the Upper Springfield. Seán writes poetry, songs, short stories and published his debut short story collection, Gáire in Éag, set in West Belfast against the backdrop of the troubles. Seán has always been an activist within the Irish language community the length and breadth of the country, in both Gaeltacht and non-Gaeltacht areas. Seán has been active in establishing Irish schools in the six counties over the last 40 years. Hecurrently presents Cóisir Filíochta on BBC Radio Ulster which platforms Irish language poetry of the 21st century, with a particular emphasis on new voices, and plenty of poetry read aloud.
