Showcasing elements of Irish heritage and culture through song, music and poetry

Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich are excitedly anticipating their first online concert showcasing fantastic music, which will be going live on Friday the 1st of May at 8:30pm.

Féasta na Bealtaine musicians will include Zoe Conway and John McIntyre, Brighde Chaimbeul and James Murchadh, Gráinne Holland, Diane Cannon and Emma Ní Fhíoruisce. Renowned seanchaí and storyteller, Eithne Ní Ghallchobhair will recite an excerpt from her new book, “Múscail, a Ghiorria” along with the recital of poetry throughout the evening courtesy of local West Belfast projects. The concert will be presented by broadcaster Caoimhe Ní Chathail.

Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin, Director of Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich stated,
“This fantastic concert comprises elements of Irish heritage and culture through song, music and poetry. The first day of May is a special date in the calendar of the Gaels and Cultúrlann plan to organise online concerts to mark Celtic festivals in the coming months. It is important in these unprecedented times, that artists and musicians are supported and that there is a platform for them to share their work with the wider community as there is a need for entertainment during this pandemic. It is Cultúrlann’s role to provide this platform, contribute to artistic initiatives contributing to wider community relief, and to demonstrate solidarity with artists.”

Féasta na Bealtaine will begin at 8:30pm on Friday the 1st of May on both Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich’s Facebook and YouTube channels. There will be a PayPal link and donations are welcome. Donations will go to musicians and artists working with us.
