Recently there has been a significant increase in people getting involved in creative writing, and more specifically, poetry. We felt it important to support and encourage this growth by hosting an annual poetry competition here in the Cultúrlann. Through this we hope to promote and develop the Arts and an Ghaeilge by organising an inclusive poetry competition which will inspire and provide a platform for members of our community to share openly. There will be two categories: • Young People’s Award o Gaeilge o Languages other than Gaeilge • Adults Award • Gaeilge • Languages other than Gaeilge
Young People:
Our judges Máire Zepf, Frances Hesketh and Fionnuala Ní Mhealláin will select a shortlist and those candidates will be invited to attend our Awards Night here at the Chultúrlann on the 11th March, with fantastic prizes being presented.
All entries must be applied before 14th February 4:00pm.
