Covid-19 Guidelines for Visitors and External Groups

Common questions

  1. Is the Cultúrlann open?

Yes! We are open every day from 9.30am to 5.30pm, except on Sundays, when we are closed. The restaurant is open 9.00am - 5.00pm from Monday to Thursday, 9.00am - 8.30pm on Friday, and 9.00am - 5.00pm on Saturday. The bookshop is open 9.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and 9.30am - 4.30pm on Saturday. We have events and classes in the evenings - please see our current programme of events or any of our pages on social media.

 

  1. I would like to have a meal in Bia restaurant. Do I need to book a table in advance or can I call in any time I like?

It is advisable to reserve a table during busy times of the day (lunch time and Friday evenings) but it is not a requirement; you are welcome to come in any time between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, 9.00am - 8.30pm on Friday, or 9.00am - 5.00pm on Saturday.

 

  1. I want to browse in An Ceathrú Póilí bookshop. Is this allowed?

The bookshop is open again and visitors are more than welcome to stop by. Alternatively, you can browse and buy books on our website. Go to https://www.anceathrupoili.com/ga/.

 

  1. Can I pay by cash at the bookshop and restaurant, or must I pay by card?

We accept cash as well as cards in both the bookshop and the restaurant.

 

  1. Are Dánlann Dillon and the Ballaí Bána art galleries open?

Yes they are; feel free to call in and have a look at our wonderful displays!

 

  1. Have in-person classes resumed in the building again?

Some have, and we have precautions in place to help limit the spread of Coronavirus. We have a Saturday morning class, which is mainly conversational, between 11.00am and 1.00pm, and we also have a class for senior citizens, ‘Na Saoithe Gan Locht’, every Wednesday morning between 10.00am and 12.00pm. Our Yoga classes have resumed in-person as well. Our two choirs are back - Cór na mBana and Cór Loch Lao, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings respectively. Our Irish night classes are currently taking place online; however, this will be reviewed in the future. Contact Sinéad at sinead@culturlann.ie for more information about registering for classes.

 

  1. Are concerts taking place again, and if so, how do I purchase tickets?

They soon will be! Keep an eye on our social media pages, or alternatively you can contact us here.

 

  1. Are children’s events taking place again, and if so, do I need to register beforehand?

Yes they are! Prior registration is advised but not necessary; you can register in person on the day of the event itself. Tickets can be purchased online – contact sinead@culturlann.ie for more information.

 

  1. Do I need to wear a face covering?

Visitors are advised to wear a face-covering if possible when they enter the premises, in accordance with the most recent Executive guidelines.

 

  1. Is social-distancing in place at the events?

Social distancing must be maintained at all times – please note the Covid signage throughout the building.

 

11. Is it possible to rent out a room for meetings/events?

Yes; visitors are asked to pre-book for programmes/events where possible and relevant. Contact us by telephone at 028 9096 4180, or by email at caoimhin@culturlann.ie for more information.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • We have a one-way system in place for entering and leaving the building; to the left of the main doors, through the gallery.

 

  • Sanitiser stations are placed throughout the building and visitors should sanitise frequently when the option to wash hands is not available.

 

  • We ask visitors not to visit the building if they have been in contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID 19 in the past 10 days, or if they are showing symptoms themselves.

 

Visitors must adhere to the above guidelines when working/visiting premises. These guidelines will be reviewed and updated as necessary.
